Purple passion fruit is Kenya's principal export variety, grown in cooler highland zones between roughly 1,200m and 2,000m where the fruit develops a smaller, sweeter profile than lowland yellow passion. Export fruit is picked at three-quarter ripeness with deep purple skin colour, then cooled quickly to extend post-harvest shelf life.
The crop has two clear harvest peaks each year, which we plan around to keep supply moving across both windows rather than a single short season — useful for buyers who want a steady passion fruit line alongside mango and avocado.
